The best thing about teaching the children at ISF is getting to see how it improves the poor children’s lives. As their teacher I try to help them along and guide them to make themselves better and have a good life. The benefits ISF have for the children are huge, I mainly get to see how it improves their minds through the education and I am very proud of them as you can see them trying to grow. The education helps them to understand the importance of learning for the future in order to get a job. Some of the children can be naughty at times, but I think the naughty ones are the clever ones and have so much more to achieve. All the children here are bright, as I teach them I see them recall the information they learn. They all also have really kind hearts which makes it a really nice place to work in. The teaching methods here are not typical of Cambodia, it allows them to be creative with their minds and also have a lot of fun.
I think that ISF is very good now as it is always growing and helping more children. Kate is very hard working and prepares us well; it is a very open-minded working environment, which helps everyone. It is also great to see all the volunteers and people that donate come through the school and have fun and help the children; they love to have visitors here.

I started out working as the security guard for ISF, however after some time ISF offered me the opportunity for a different job as the truck driver for the school. ISF put me through training and I got my licence. Now I find my job far more rewarding as I can spend time with the children and I get to take them to many places, mainly their football matches, which I really enjoy.
Over the years I have also got to see how ISF has grown, there are many more children now than when I started working here. It’s been great to see the increasing number of children that benefit from having an education rather than working from a young age, whilst at the same time seeing ISF support the families so that their current situations do not have to change.

The thing I like most about working for ISF is the other staff as they are all really nice. I also like being able to treat the children even though sometimes they can be quite hard work, but this is when they are being cheeky and trying to make everyone smile!
It really pleases me to see how ISF improves their wellbeing. When they first come here they get sick a lot, but after 3 months they are a lot better because they have a better diet and can get any medical treatment that they need. Also they get to wash and clean their teeth here, which some of them wouldn’t be able to do otherwise.

I came to work at ISF because I was interested in the work that they do, also because working with children was a change for me, and one that I thought would be much more fun. It’s great working here, there is an incredible work atmosphere and we are always encouraged to share our ideas. The work environment is really nice to work in as we can always ask for anything and Kate is really easy to talk to. Everyone here works together really well as everyone knows their jobs and come in and just get on with their responsibilities.
My experience here has been even better than I ever expected, I started off as an administrator and have been given the opportunity to further my career. I am now being trained to country manager, which has given me so much valuable experiences and all this in only one year! The benefits I see for the children are amazing, without the education they would be having to work now and end up working the same job forever, never being able to move away from the area. They also get to have great fun and play lots of sports, the things that they would never be able to do as children if they were having to work. It is so much better that ISF are not too strict with the children, they participate is class and share their ideas and have a lot of fun, something that I was definitely too scared to do when I was at school.

ISF has given me the opportunity to do a job that I both enjoy and find fulfilling, certainly something that had not even been an option to me before. I started off as a cleaner for the organization, but have now been trained as a football coach. It has given me a chance to find a new love in football and partake in a scheme that benefits the children so greatly: not only does the football encourage the children to stay away from potentially harmful habits, but it in itself keeps the children fit and healthy. I really like working for ISF as there is a great team spirit amongst the staff and children and other teams, both on and off the pitch.

The reason I like to work with ISF. I like football, I like working with children. And ISF help me to get more education, give me chance to receive lots more experience, I get to know lots of people and also I get to participate more fully in society.
I was working in a factory, when I was sent to take D licence course. My family trying to stop me from going as they think not good for woman to play football, they prefer me to work in factory. But I decided to go to the course as football coach. I started to work as full time coach in May 2009 which not long after that some of the girl players who are training from the team that is sponsor by ISF was selected as girls national team and they were sent to play with a team in Laos. I was sent with them also. That was the first time in my life that I travelled outside my country. My family are very happy with my success and they give me more respect now.
I would like to thank to ISF for giving me a chance to be one of the staff, and I am very proud being part of the ISF team.
