Our annual fundraiser, as part of the 16th Angkor Wat International Half Marathon, will start in front of Angkor Wat on Sunday, 4 December 2011.
This is a great ISF community event for everyone who supports or is a working part of the Foundation. We want 2011 to be even more successful than 2010.
The 2010 Half Marathon was held on Sunday 5 December 2010 and ISF had a record number of supporters running and walking. We would like to thank everyone who participated in the run. In particular we wish to congratulate the teachers and staff from our Stung Meanchey Education Centre and all our Football Programme staff who ran in the 10km fun run. It was a great team effort with everyone completing the 10 kilometers – it may have been their first but it definitely is not their last.
We had a fantastic roll up of supporters from Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and the United Kingdom. To each and everyone of you, thank you for taking the time to support ISF whilst at the same time enjoying the amazing atmosphere of this half marathon with the beauty of Angkor Wat surrounding you as you navigated the course.
In particular we would like to thank Steven Higgins and the team from ANZ Royal in Cambodia. The ANZ Royal team put in a great effort participating in the 21km event and we look forward to welcoming them back to run and support us in 2011.
Finally the run would not be the same without our “thank you” cocktail party for our supporters which we hosted at the Foreign Correspondence Club in Siem Reap on the Saturday evening. The Management and Staff at the FCC did a great job in running the function, making all our guests feel welcome and cared for.
So – are you ready for the 2011 Angkor Wat International Half Marathon? We want you to participate, enjoy the event and more importantly continue to support the kids at ISF. We raised in excess of US$175,000 in 2010 and every dollar raised makes an extraordinary difference to the community that ISF supports. At ISF we believe that every child has the right to education, healthcare and sport.
